How To Protect Your Eyes From Sun Damage

Protecting your eyes from sun damage is a year-round job
Whether you’re at the beach, gliding down the ski slopes, hiking nature trails, taking in your child’s soccer game, or just going about your day, you need to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.
Here are some quick and easy hints that can help
Sun Glasses
Get a good pair of UV-blocking sunglasses and sunglass readers, if you need them. Sunglasses are not only designed to protect your eyes from the sun but from wind as well. So if you also have dry eye symptoms, think sunglasses.
Sun Hats
Not just any old sun hat will do. You want one that has real sun protection. We like Alchemi Sun Hats because they outperform any sun hat on the market. These hats have a radiant barrier that reflects up to 80% of the sun’s heat waves AWAY from your body instead of absorbing it like other sun hats; they boast an 800 UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) that blocks 99.8% of the UV rays.
Sunscreen
Please use a sunscreen that’s designed specifically for your face and is gentle on the sensitive skin around your eyes. We recommend DERMA*E Natural Mineral Sunscreen because it is oil-free. Oil-based sunscreens can clog your eyelid’s oil glands and result in uncomfortable eye conditions. This 30 SPF (Sun Protection Factor) product is hypoallergenic and fragrance free.
Daily Refresher
At the end of the day refresh your eyes with Retaine MGD Emulsion Tears; single dose tears have no preservatives so they are safe with contact lenses. Thicker formula soothes and refreshes. If you like being outdoors, you need your daily eye refresher.
